“My heart rejoices in the Lord; My strength is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your Salvation. No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides you, nor is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.” (1 Samuel 2:1-3)
This beautiful, convicting, relevant and timely prayer was written by Samuel’s mother, Hannah, in 722 B.C. (722 B.C.!) It is so easy to become anxious and fearful in these days of turmoil. Our country desperately needs a revival, and sometimes it may feel like God’s might is out of reach.
But….our hearts should “rejoice in the Lord!” We should “Rejoice in our Salvation”, because there is no rock like our God. He will never leave us. He will never forsake us. He is the almighty God of miracles and wonders, and is also the God who hears our cries and comforts us. Rest easy, fellow believers, and have faith. God is in control!
