“Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” – Romans 8:34
I want you to take a second to think about the last time someone said, “I’m praying for you.” How did you feel when you heard those words? I know for me personally, hearing that someone is praying for me is one of the most encouraging things to hear. It’s a wonderful thing when someone carves out time in his or her day to lift you up to our Heavenly Father.
But do you realize that Jesus is praying for us all the time? In fact, some of the last words Jesus ever said before He died were prayers for all of humanity. And right now, right at this very moment, He is praying to His Father for you. He is praying for your family. He’s praying for your marriage. He’s praying for your friendships. He’s praying for your heart as you’re navigating seasons of waiting and disappointment and uncertainty. He is constantly interceding on your behalf.
Paul writes in the book of Romans, “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us” (8:34).
The fact that Jesus is praying for us like this should be such an encouragement to us. This isn’t something we should just skim over in our Bibles or take for granted. If hearing that your friends and family are praying for you means so much, just try to wrap your head around the fact that the Savior of the world is taking the time right now to pray for you. This is just one of the many incredible things about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
So whatever you’re walking through today, I want to encourage you to confidently bring your prayers to your Heavenly Father. And I hope that as you do, you find comfort in the fact that Jesus is praying right along with you.
