“Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes…” (1 Corinthians 1:1)
Paul knew who he was! He remembered the encounter he had with the Lord on the road to Damascus. His early days of following Jesus, in the face of those who still probably feared him, was on his mind. This Jew of Jews, Hebrew of Hebrews, had his life totally rearranged and redirected by the King of Kings. Now, his ministry was to the Gentiles, the very people who had never been on his radar before! He was breaking new ground because he was following the Master.
Today, are you in tune with whom you are in Christ? Are you living a life directed by the Lord, just as Paul? You see, you don’t need to have a title of “apostle” to be living in the calling God has given you. A follower of Christ is a man or woman, who has had an encounter with Jesus and has come out completely changed by the Holy Spirit. Live into that today…and while you do…
Don’t forget about the people who are with you in ministry. Paul called Sosthenes, his brother. Remember those whom the Lord has surrounded you with this day. Serve with them, but also pray for them as they walk this road with you. They will be a blessing to you because the Lord knew you would need them and they would need you. Just like you, they, too are completely called. Pray for them right now!
