Is This Good or What?

“He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9)

Some verses when read invariably bring a big smile from the reader. This is one of them. Let’s just walk around this verse for a moment today until we get really happy about it, regardless of what circumstances may lie ahead of us. Look at all the Lord is doing for us…just look!

“He is keeping us.” We are His possessions and His grip is undeniably powerful. We could be in no better hands. “He is keeping us firm.” Even on those days when we feel more like Jell-O, He still has us covered with His strength, and we have all the backbone we need. “He is keeping us firm until the very end.” That’s right…we will make it to the end and finish well for His Kingdom. Though we haven’t seen the end of the story, He has and pronounces our faithful endurance now. “He is keeping us blameless.” Imagine that for a second. You, as His child are standing as one who is completely innocent and totally forgiven now. “He is keeping us blameless forever.” If you haven’t smiled yet, check yourself for a heartbeat.

There are some days when we just need to breathe in fresh air and allow our lungs to be filled with pure oxygen. Nothing is more powerful than the Word of God and nothing can motivate you to sing more, whether you can carry a note or not, than to realize how good God has been to you. Jesus has made all of this possible for us and we haven’t added anything to the equation. He called us and now is keeping us in fellowship with Him. Isn’t this wonderful? I thought I heard an “AMEN!” Yes, I did. May your day flow with His presence and your steps be filled with His power. You belong to Jesus! Now, “Is that good or what?”
