“Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,” (Colossians 1:11)
You’ve got it, so use it! Paul told the Colossians that they were being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might. He wasn’t kidding and he really meant what he told them. Just think, as a believer you, too, are being strengthened just like that, as well. It doesn’t mean that you have to feel it for it to be real. It’s already happening through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Here’s the power source: His glorious might! It’s not that you have to generate anything. In fact, it’s impossible for us to generate enough emotional strength to take us to the next level, much less live on the present level in which we are struggling. We are to draw upon His glorious might. How much might is that? All you need for this moment. As you take the next step, His glorious might will make itself known just when you need it. Isn’t that fabulous? The purpose of His glorious might is to equip you to have great endurance and patience to deal with the things that try to suck you dry each and every moment. What would that be? Life. A person once wrote, “The problem with life is it is so daily.” He has you covered, so relax and breathe in heavenly air!
His power is tapped when we rest in Him and see who we are in Christ. As you spend time alone with Him each day, reading His Word and remaining sensitive to His Spirit, He and He alone will remind you of what He is providing you for this moment. Listen to Jesus’ voice today; as you listen, expect the power you need to be there at just the right time. You’ve got it, so use it!
