Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee…(John 21:1)
Multiple times following His resurrection, Jesus appeared to His disciples. However, this time would be different, especially for Simon Peter. He had just denied Jesus three different times. Broken hearted, he expressed his remorse in an appropriate way; he repented for his failure.
Peter had not been able to talk with Jesus until this moment. Because of his unfinished business with Jesus, I believe Simon Peter jumped out of the boat to have a conversation with Jesus on the shore, before the other disciples arrived.
Why did Jesus not bring up Simon Peter’s denial? Peter had already repented. When he had repented with God the Father, it was the same as doing it with Christ. You see, God the Father is one with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Once we repent of sin, regardless of what it was or how deep the pain it caused, God forgives us and remembers it no more.
Do you have any unfinished business with the Lord today? Service in the Kingdom is wonderful, but living in the flow of His fellowship is everything. Leave no sin unconfessed!
