Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
One of the toughest, and most heartbreaking truths to swallow as a human being and a follower of Jesus is that not everyone will be saved. Only 7 % of the world’s population even claims to be Christian. Do you know what that means? Most likely, you know people who don’t know Christ, and who aren’t saved.
Maybe, you have family members, whether they are immediate family or distant relatives, who don’t know the Lord. Or, maybe, you have friends, coworkers, or neighbors who haven’t surrendered their lives to Christ. These are people you see on a frequent basis right now. Can you imagine one day being separated from them forever? It’s a terrible thought, but it’s the truth. Jesus makes it very clear that not everyone will go to heaven.
It is not because God doesn’t want them to go to heaven; it is because they have never chosen to turn from sin and place their faith in Christ. Where are you with your faith? Have you personally given your life to Christ? Do you know Jesus because you have chosen to follow Him? If so, that is wonderful! If not, now is the time to receive His free gift of salvation.
Are you burdened about people in your life right now? Do you have a family member, a friend, a coworker, or a neighbor who doesn’t know the Lord? If so, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to work in this person’s life. Ask God to help you be a light for Him so that this person could seek what you have in Christ.
