The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. (Psalm 145:15-16)
With everything that this world tries to offer us on a daily basis, it is easy for us to believe the lie that we can find fulfillment in the things of this world. We think we can find fulfillment in possessions, money, status, relationship, experiences, or a combination of these. We convince ourselves that if we could just get that promotion, find a spouse, look a certain way, buy that house, or earn a higher salary, we would be happy; we will find fulfillment. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The sooner you realize that the things of this world won’t satisfy you, the better off you will be. The Lord has so much more to offer you in a relationship with Him than anything we could possibly obtain or acquire outside of the Lord.
When it comes to finding fulfillment, don’t try to find fulfillment in religion, instead of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many Christians get caught up with looking for security or happiness from their church, from their rituals of baptism and communion, or even from serving. While God uses those things to strengthen your faith, it is ultimately and solely a relationship with Him that will give you the satisfaction and security you are desiring. Don’t get so caught up with checking all the Christian boxes that you miss out on an intimate relationship with God.
You will never find fulfillment in another place or another person. You won’t find it in a certain position or status; and you won’t obtain it in a church or an organization. It is in Christ and Christ alone where you will find true, everlasting fulfillment that will never leave you wanting more.
