The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
In our world today, because of this coronavirus pandemic, we have lost something very special, culturally, personally, and spiritually. We have lost fellowship and personal intimacy with others. In its place, there is social distancing. Because of that, we have been deprived of connecting with other people. Fellowship is a very powerful thing. Sometimes, we don’t appreciate it until we have totally lost it. I want us to look at how important fellowship is so we can appreciate and pursue it, even in the midst of our current circumstances.
Many people today want to be with each other. Why can’t they be together? It’s called a virus. The coronavirus (COVID-19) has changed the lives of so many people, but that doesn’t mean all fellowship has to stop.
We may not be able to have fellowship and connectivity with each other because of a physical virus, but that doesn’t mean we can’t maintain fellowship with God. It is your birth right and no one can take that away from you. No virus can rip that out of your system. Regardless of what you are going through, God cares about you; and He wants you to maintain that fellowship with Him.
If someone turns from sin and places their faith in Christ, what do they have? They have fellowship with God and fellowship with each other. Again, a virus can’t take that away! No pandemic can destroy that. The Gospel can create a pathway to remove all of the obstacles in your life. The obstacles that were standing in your way are no longer there because the Gospel has cleared the way. You can now have a relationship with God, and a relationship with other people.
