Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16)

Intercession is one of the greatest powers we have as followers of Jesus. Unfortunately, we rarely tap into it. When we are praying and interceding in the lives of the people around us, incredible things happen.

Sadly, many of us try to take too much into our own hands, especially when trying to save or change other people. We think if we talk to them enough, give them a good pitch, and bring them to church enough times, they will eventually turn away from their sin and accept Christ. When we rely on our own efforts (and those efforts don’t achieve the desired result), we become frustrated and discouraged.

For people who don’t know Christ personally, we should earnestly pray for them and never give up on them. It is not up to us to change people; that is the job only the Holy Spirit can accomplish. Our job is to intercede on their behalf, asking the Lord to soften their hearts and make Himself known to them.

Even when someone seems like they are a lost cause, they are never out of the Father’s reach. There is always hope. Never give up on your family, friends, coworkers, or your neighbors. God loves every single one of them as much as He loves you. He loves when you pray that these people will turn away from sin and turn toward Him.

I will continue to pray for my family …. husband and step daughter. Interceding is key, I know I’m just a vessel

Sometimes that’s all we can do is continue to pray for them and leave it to God I am doing that for a couple of my grandsons That they might have a relationship with Christ at some point in their life

Yes! God only can soften any one’s heart. We canèt do any thing for them, We can just pray for them. I have two daughters Hanna Grace and Priscilla, and two boys Paul and John. I pray for them every morning when I get up and evening before bed. I pray that all of my family should be saved.

Boy, I sure am happy I signed up for your daily devotional. Finally, I’m able to understand the scriptures. My life is enriched through them.

This particular one I really needed. now. Praying for others is the answer. I was trying to change them and all it did was make me more miserable. It hit home when I read that it was the Holy Spirit’s job, not ours.

Thank you Dr. Dodd and keep up the good work!

I have become so Aware that Prayer is My to each and every circumstance in the hopes for Family and Friends Salvation and prosperity. As much as I want my loved ones to see what the Holy Spirit has shown me. Prayers, Faith, and Patience on My part is the Answer !
