    Transformed

    April 20, 2018

“Six days later Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone.  As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.  Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus.” (Matthew 17:1-3)  I…

    God’s “Haves” and His “Wills”

    April 19, 2018

Israel’s first military test in the Promised Land was the outpost of Jericho.  When Joshua went on a reconnaissance mission to strategize how to take the city, he met a stranger who identified himself as “commander of the army of the Lord.”  Recognizing this was the Lord Himself, Joshua fell on his face in worship. The Lord said, “See, I have…

“Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, ‘Who do the crowds say I am?’ They replied, ‘Some say John the Baptist; others said Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.’ ‘But what about you?’ He asked. ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘God’s Messiah.” (Luke: 9:18-20) If you have been around long,…

    Being Where God Wants You

    April 17, 2018

“On hearing this, Jesus said to them, ‘It is not the healthy who needs a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17) Levi, the same man known as Matthew, began to follow Christ. The first thing he did after leaving his tax collecting booth was to throw a dinner…

    His Authority and Yours

    April 16, 2018

“The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.” (Mark 1:22) There was something completely different as to how Jesus taught. I have been in the very synagogue where Jesus taught in Capernaum. As He spoke then, He is still speaking…

    It’s Happening Now

    April 15, 2018

“After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. ‘The time has come,’ he said. ‘The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:14-15) John found his public ministry was limited to contact with others in prison. Things were changing. Now, Jesus went into the Galilee area and began…
