Hungry for More
"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good." — 1 Peter 2:2-3
How often do you eat?
Let me say this to you. Do not think that coming to the feed trough once a week will keep you healthy. If you only eat once a week, you will be skinny. You would look like me. We all need nourishment. We all need the Word of God. I am hungry for the Word of God and for fellowship. I am hungry for the Body of Christ to intersect with my life.
Imagine trying to survive physically on one meal a week. You'd be weak. You'd be malnourished. You'd lack energy. Your body would break down because it's not getting the consistent nutrition it needs.
That's what happens to Christians who only feed on God's Word on Sunday mornings. They wonder why their faith feels weak. They wonder why they struggle with temptation. They wonder why they can't stand strong when trials come.
You're spiritually starving. One feeding a week isn't enough.
You need daily bread. You need to get into God's Word every single day. Not out of legalism. Not to check a box. But because you're hungry. Because you need it. Because your soul requires nourishment.
Jesus said, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). Every word. Not just Sunday's sermon. Not just the devotional you read when you remember. Every word, consistently, daily.
I pray that you will find a small group. That is where real ministry takes place. You need a small group; not just to be in the worship crowd. You need people who will feed you during the week, who will study Scripture with you, who will hold you accountable, who will pray with you.
Stop surviving on one meal a week. Get hungry. Open your Bible daily. Join a small group where you can feast on God's Word with other believers.
Your spiritual health depends on consistent nourishment. Feed yourself. Be hungry. Grow strong.
