You’re Not a Victim
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." — Philippians 4:13
Do you believe you're stuck where you are?
Some are poor because of situational issues. Maybe they were laid off from work. They might have a physical problem that has prevented success financially. Maybe they have had medical bills their insurance didn't cover. They are in a desperate situation.
God cares about you. This situation can teach you to trust Him and to receive from Him and others.
But here's what I need you to hear: You don't have to stay in this situation. You are not a victim. God does not want His children to live with a victim mentality. You may have started out not having two cents to rub together, but you don't have to stay there.
Victim mentality says, "This is just my lot in life." Faith says, "God has more for me than this."
Victim mentality says, "I can't give because I have nothing." Faith says, "I'll give what I have and watch God multiply it."
Victim mentality says, "Things will never change." Faith says, "My God will meet all my needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).
Your circumstances are real. Your struggles are valid. But they don't define your future. God specializes in taking people from nothing to something, from poverty to purpose, from stuck to soaring.
Stop identifying as a victim. Start identifying as a child of the King who owns everything.
Your situation is temporary. His promises are eternal. Don't let where you are determine where you're going.
