Walk Slow Enough
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." — Ephesians 4:2
Are you moving too fast to help anyone?
We live in a culture that runs way too fast. We rush from meeting to meeting, task to task, appointment to appointment. We're efficient. We're productive. We're also missing almost everyone God puts in our path.
Real discipleship requires you to slow down.
You cannot pour into someone's life while sprinting past them. You cannot encourage a hurting soul in a thirty-second hallway conversation. You cannot walk alongside someone if you're always ten steps ahead.
"The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him" (Psalm 37:23).
Notice it says steps, not sprints. God is not in a hurry. He walks with His people at a pace that allows for conversation, for connection, for actual relationship.
Maybe the reason you haven't been able to invest in anyone lately isn't because you don't care. Maybe it's because you haven't slowed down enough to notice who needs you.
Your spouse needs your focused presence. Your kids need unhurried time. Your coworkers need more than a quick wave on the way to your next task.
"I pray that God would teach us to walk slowly enough to listen and to focus on the people He has invited us to walk alongside."
Speed kills relationships. Slow down. Someone near you has been waiting for you to notice them.
