The Only Solid Ground

"He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he." — Deuteronomy 32:4
 
Where have you been placing your faith?
 
You know one of the top reasons people give for not attending church? "It's full of hypocrites." And honestly, they're right. Every church is full of people who don't live up to what they believe. Including you. Including me.
 
But here's the problem with that excuse: it reveals misplaced faith.
 
If your faith is in a pastor, you will be disappointed. Pastors will say something you take wrong, or maybe you took it right and they got it wrong. Either way, they will let you down.
 
If your faith is in a denomination or an organization, you will eventually be disillusioned. Institutions fail. Systems break. People in leadership fall.
 
But Jesus? He will never fail you.
 
"On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand."
 
That old hymn writer understood something we keep forgetting. There is only one foundation that will never shift, never crack, never crumble. Every other ground you build your life on will eventually give way.
 
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).
 
When everyone else leaves, He is the one who will always be there. When your spouse disappoints you, when your kids let you down, when the church hurts you, Jesus remains.
 
Point people to Him. He's the only solid ground there is.
