The Lens You Look Through
"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ." — Colossians 2:8
How do you interpret what's happening in the world?
We are living in a very volatile time. I know that many of you watch what is happening globally and you are wondering what will happen next. When you look at what is occurring in our country internally and politically, you see what is occurring militarily with our country and Israel. What is happening and where are we headed?
Here's what I need you to understand: Our perspective needs to be a Biblical worldview. Our interpretation of present events needs to be directed by the testimony of the Word of God.
Everyone has a lens through which they interpret events. Some people look through the lens of politics. Some look through economics. Some look through personal experience. Some look through fear.
But as believers, we must look through the lens of Scripture.
When you watch the news, do you panic? Or do you remember that God is sovereign over nations? When you see instability, do you despair? Or do you recall that Jesus said these things must happen?
The Bible tells us that one day all nations will go against Israel. It tells us about the players in the Last Days. It tells us how the story ends. We already know the outcome.
This should shape how we respond to current events. Not with anxiety. Not with fear. Not with obsessive speculation. But with confidence that God's plan is unfolding exactly as He said it would.
It is important that we live like God wants us to live, ready for Jesus to come at any time. But ready doesn't mean anxious. Ready means grounded in God's Word.
Stop letting cable news shape your worldview. Stop letting social media determine your emotional state. Stop interpreting events through the lens of fear or political preference.
Get into Scripture. Understand what God has said about the future. Then watch current events through that lens.
A Biblical worldview doesn't remove all questions. But it removes the panic. Because you know who holds the future.
