No Plan B's

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" — Jeremiah 29:11
 
Do you feel like you're living a second-rate life?
 
I'll never forget when I was in seminary. There was a guy much older than the rest of us—in his 40s. Most of us were in our 20s, fresh out of college. This man already had a PhD in nuclear physics. He'd served on a submarine. Then God called him into ministry.
 
He was transparent enough in Greek class to say, "I look at a bunch of you guys, and you're on plan A. You said yes to Jesus early in your life." Then he said, "It's taken me a long time. I guess where I am now, I'm on plan B."
 
You could tell he was disappointed in himself. Disappointed in not hearing from God earlier.
 
And the seminary professor wisely said, "Sir, there are no plan Bs with God. You're on plan A."
 
All of a sudden, he lifted his head and began to smile.
 
Let me tell you something. Some of us have gone through a divorce. Some of us have had financial disasters. Some of us struggle with terminal diagnoses. But there are no plan Bs.
 
Where you are right now is plan A.
 
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).
 
God doesn't have a backup plan for your life. He has THE plan—and you're in it. Whatever you've walked through, whatever detours you've taken, whatever time you think you've wasted—He's weaving it all together.
 
Stop living like you're second-best. You're on plan A. Right now. Right here.
