God Provides
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
I grew up in a single-parent family. My mom and dad divorced when I was 10 years old. After they separated, my dad vacated our lives, and I only saw him twice before he passed away, once in the fifth grade and once right before I graduated from high school.
Because my dad was absent from my life, I endured a lot of pain, hurt, and disappointment. Not to mention, my mom dealt with her own struggles, as well. She was constantly worrying about anything and everything. She always seemed to be anxious about something, particularly when it came to providing for our family.
Nevertheless, even though she worried, the Lord always provided. I was able to see from a very young age how God provides for us in the midst of our pain. He provided for our family when we were anxious and struggling. Likewise, He can provide for you, too, in whatever circumstances you are facing today.
If you are in a painful season, or worried and anxious about something, lean into your relationship with our Heavenly Father. He will take care of you and will never abandon you. He will always provide for you, no matter how painful, disappointing, or difficult your circumstances become.

Thank you for always sharing truth and encouragement. In a world desperately needing both it is so needed. May the Lord continue to use you and grant you fruit for your labor. I can relate very well to your story. God bless you
My dad died in WW11 and my mother had 4 children to provide for. Every day we said our prayers and our Lord did provide. My mother even started a new church 2 blocks from our home and it is still growing today with increasing membership. With the GI bill for our education we all have successful careers. Thank you for reminding us how God always provides. Your devotions are exceptional.
Thank you for this post today. I need to lean more into a relationship with my Heavenly Father
I grew up in a poor family where we always had hand-me downs. My 2 boys were raised in a single parent home. God always provided for us. He still provides for me as well. I am thankful to Him for being in my life.
I too grew up in a "broken home" ... and, yes .. my biological father was absent almost my entire childhood. I saw him for the last time when I was fifteen. My mom later married a truly fine man, whom I consider my "real" earthly father. In addition, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at age nineteen. I am very, very Blessed by my Holy Father 🙠!! God has been so, so Good to me and my lovely wife for over fifty years !! I Praise His Holy Name !! He's my "All in All" !!
Today, I hesitated to tithe for my husband's pay because I had Covid and wasn't able to work. I prayed and told God I was trusting him to provide and I gave the tithe online. It was about an hour later I received a call from a relative asking us to dog sit for her (with pay). It will be more than the amount we tithed. Praise God for His faithfulness to provide!
Sometimes I feel fear and pace......I have just gotten over a disease and I feel like I can't breath.
It seems odd but I can't seem to shake it.
Thank you so much Dr. Dodd! You are always a help and encouragement to me! Most every time since I've started reading your devotionals it hits home with me with something I'm going through! I appreciate that. It means a lot!
