You Cannot Lose What He Holds
"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." — John 10:28
Are you afraid of losing your salvation?
God wants you to know that you know that you know Him. The writer of 1 John says that these things were written so that you may know that you have eternal life. Not hope. Not wish. Know.
You will never lose your salvation.
I need you to hear that. If you have genuinely turned from sin and placed your faith in Christ, you are secure. Not because you're holding onto God, but because He's holding onto you.
Some people live in constant fear. They sin and think, "Did I just lose my salvation?" They have a bad week and wonder, "Am I still saved?" They doubt their faith and panic, "What if I'm not really His?"
That's no way to live. And it's not what God wants for you.
Scripture tells us in 1 John: "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."
Notice who gives eternal life. God does. Notice what kind of life it is. Eternal. Not temporary. Not conditional. Not dependent on your performance. Eternal.
I grew up in a broken home. After my parents divorced, I only saw my dad two more times before he died. As a result, I wrestled with eternal security. I had the mentality that God would leave me.
Maybe you have that same wound. Maybe your earthly experience has taught you that people leave, that love is conditional, that security doesn't last.
But God is not your earthly father. He doesn't abandon. He doesn't change His mind. He doesn't let go.
"Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
Rest in that. You are secure. Forever.

Is this saying that you cannot lose your salvation even if you turn away from God? Is this speaking of once saved always saved?
I am thankful that I have salvation and I know there will be a day that I will see Jesus face to face.
AMEN!!
