Which Child Gets Blessed?
on June 11th, 2026
Let me ask you a question.
If you have multiple kids and you have one child who feels entitled to everything you would give them, and you have another child who is humble, appreciative, and overwhelmed with what you give—which one do you want to bless? Read More

Active Waiting
on June 10th, 2026
What do you do when God seems silent?
When Jesus left, He told His disciples, "Wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit comes." They had no idea what that would mean. They did not understand the full implications of that, but they were told to wait.
Waiting is not passive. It takes commitment and discipline to wait.
Many of us think waiting means doing nothing. We sit around frustrated, anxious, wondering why God isn't moving faster. But Biblical waiting is active, not passive. Read More

Nothing to Worry About
on June 9th, 2026
How much of your life do you spend worrying?
I love Christian comedians. Mike Goodwin tells about wisdom his grandmother imparted to him. She said, "Son, there are only two things you need to be concerned about. Whether you are healthy or sick. If you are healthy, you have nothing to worry about..." And the logic goes on through getting better or worse, living or dying, heaven or hell—until the punchline.
But here's the real wisdom: There are only two things you need to concern yourself with. Number one is whether you are in God's will right now. Number two is whether you are not in God's will. Read More

From Cowards to Warriors
on June 8th, 2026
What happened to the disciples?
These appearances were intended to prove His physical resurrection. After the resurrection, the disciples moved from being cowards to being courageous warriors.
Think about that transformation. Before the resurrection, Peter denied Jesus three times to a servant girl. The disciples hid behind locked doors, terrified the authorities would come for them next. They scattered when Jesus was arrested. They abandoned Him at His darkest hour.

In the Flow

What's controlling you?
This passage might surprise you. Paul doesn't just say "don't drink." He says don't be drunk—don't be controlled by a substance—and instead, be filled with the Spirit.
Here's the principle: You are either in the flow of the Spirit or in the flow of the flesh. Something is always influencing you. The question is what.
People who are inebriated will do things, say things, and act in ways they normally wouldn't act when they're sober. Why? Because a substance is controlling them.

When You Can’t Hear the Applause
on June 6th, 2026
Have you ever given your best when you had the least?
Ludwig van Beethoven lived in the latter part of the 1700s and 1800s in a time when Europe was going through much upheaval. Out of that scenario, Beethoven was commissioned to write his ninth symphony. It became the zenith of his career.
Here's what amazes me: He wrote that symphony when he was completely deaf. He could not hear it at all. Read More

Give Yourself First

Listen to what Paul says about the Macedonian churches: "In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord's people" (2 Corinthians 8:2-4). Read More

This Could Have Been You
on June 4th, 2026
What would you do if someone tested your generosity?
I was watching an interesting video the other day. A guy had a gasoline can at a service station. He saw a man with a nice car filling up and said, "Can you spare $2?" The guy went off on him—condescending, hateful, mean. "If you need money, go get a job."
In the middle of this conversation, another man walked over and said, "I heard your conversation. I understand what is going on." He reached into his pocket and gave him $20. Read More

You’re Not a Victim

Do you believe you're stuck where you are?
Some are poor because of situational issues. Maybe they were laid off from work. They might have a physical problem that has prevented success financially. Maybe they have had medical bills their insurance didn't cover. They are in a desperate situation.
God cares about you. This situation can teach you to trust Him and to receive from Him and others. Read More

The Previous Step
on June 2nd, 2026
Are you asking God for new direction while ignoring old instructions?
Don't expect the next step to be revealed if you haven't taken the previous step that God has already given you to do. This is a simple thought. Many of us are not doing what God has already told us to do. We are looking for a new Word from Him, and a new direction from Him. Read More

A Bigger Shovel

Some people think generosity is a losing proposition. If I give it away, I won't have it anymore. If I'm generous, I'll end up with less. It feels like simple math—subtraction.
But God's economy doesn't work like ours.
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Read More

Time for a Spiritual Cleanse

What's weighing you down?
Let me share an illustration with you. Over the last year, I have lost 50 pounds. I am a shadow of my former self. In fact, I weigh today what I weighed when I got married many years ago. I did that intentionally because I wanted to be healthy.
In my blood tests recently—I studied all night for them—my A1c was down and my PSA was down. Do you know why? I got rid of some stuff that I didn't need to be carrying. Read More
