Does Your Ministry Stick?
"For our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction." — 1 Thessalonians 1:5
Have you ever wondered what makes ministry actually work? I mean, really work — not just fill up a church calendar or keep people busy, but genuinely change lives?
Paul spent only a short time in Thessaloniki. If you visit today, you'll find a thriving city with families strolling along the boardwalk by the ocean. It's beautiful. But here's what gets me: even though Paul's time there was brief, the Gospel stuck. Decades later, that church was still going strong. Why? Because Paul wasn't focused on himself. He wasn't building his own platform or polishing his reputation. He brought the power of the Gospel.
The Gospel makes a difference in people's lives. Not programs. Not personality. The Gospel.
Too many of us get caught up thinking ministry is about the pastor or the church planter or the latest strategy. But that's flesh-driven thinking. The real question is this: Are you bringing the power of God's Word, or are you just showing up with good intentions and clever ideas?
When the Holy Spirit is at work, things stick. Lives change. Hearts transform. People who were lost find their way home. That's what happened in Thessaloniki, and it's what can happen wherever God plants you — whether it's for a season or a lifetime.
So let me ask you: Does your ministry stick? Are you relying on your own strength, or are you letting the Gospel do what only the Gospel can do? Stop trying to make something happen in your own power. Bring the Word. Trust the Spirit. Watch God work.

I've seen too many times where people were trying to push the ministry or ideas instead of teaching the gospel. May I be spreading the gospel so that others may be saved.
