Equipped for Everything
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." — 2 Timothy 3:16-17
What equips you for life?
Notice what Paul says here: "All Scripture is God-breathed." That word in Greek is "theopneustos"—theo (God) and pneustos (breathed). Every word of Scripture is exhaled from the mouth of God. This is not just human wisdom. This is not just good advice from religious teachers. This is the very breath of God captured in written form.
And what is it useful for? Everything you need: teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. In other words, Scripture tells you what's right, what's wrong, how to get right, and how to stay right.
The goal? "So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." The Greek word for "equipped" means fully furnished, completely supplied, lacking nothing. When you have God's Word, you have everything you need to live the life God has called you to live.
You don't need ten more self-help books. You don't need another seminar or conference. You don't need the latest trending podcast. What you need is to get into the Word of God and let it equip you.
Too many Christians are starving spiritually because they're feeding on everything except Scripture. They're getting their worldview from social media. They're getting their values from culture. They're getting their direction from friends. And then they wonder why they feel lost and powerless.
God has given you His Word. It's alive. It's powerful. It's sufficient. Everything you need for life and godliness is found in these pages.
Stop looking everywhere else for answers. Stop letting culture shape your thinking. Get into the Word. Let it teach you. Let it correct you. Let it train you.
When you do, you'll find yourself thoroughly equipped for every good work God has for you. Not partially equipped. Not mostly equipped. Thoroughly equipped. Completely supplied. Lacking nothing.
