The Pull You Can't Ignore
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day." — John 6:44
Have you felt that pull?
There must be a moment in your life when you sensed the drawing of the Spirit of God and conviction. This conviction means you are aware of your separation and your sinfulness that separates you from a Holy God. In that moment of spiritual conviction, the work of the Holy Spirit draws our hearts and lives to Christ.
The Holy Spirit will not coerce you to surrender to Him, but rather He will draw you to Christ.
Many times, I have met with someone down front at the end of a service when I gave the invitation. I asked them the question, "Why did you come?" They often answered, "I don't know. I just knew that I was supposed to come. I sensed that God was inviting me to come."
That's the drawing I'm referring to. It's supernatural. It's unmistakable. It's God reaching into your heart and saying, "Come."
You can resist it. You can ignore it. You can push it down. But you can't manufacture it. This is God's work, not yours. The Holy Spirit reveals your spiritual condition. He shows you your need. He opens your eyes to see Christ.
This is different from just learning facts about Jesus. This is different from being raised in church. This is different from having Christian friends. This is a divine pull on your soul that only God can create.
Have you experienced that? Has there been a moment when you have been drawn to Christ, or did you just believe some facts? Believing facts does not mean that you have been converted. Just because you have learned some Scripture verses does not mean that you have had a moment of grace where God has changed your life.
This is critical! It is essential for coming to faith in Christ.
If you're feeling that pull right now—that sense that God is calling you, drawing you, inviting you—don't ignore it. Don't wait. Respond to it. That's the Holy Spirit at work in your life.
Turn from sin. Place your faith in Christ. Let Him change your heart. That's conversion. That's the drawing of God.

I firmly believe that The Holy Spirit does call upon people and draw them towards God and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ. This experience happened to me when I was nineteen years old at a Billy Graham Crusade. I knew that I was being "personally" spoken to in a supernatural way. I responded, received Christ as my Savior, and became a Child of God that very day. It was the moment that changed my life. I will always be thankful to my God, His Son and the Holy Spirit for Their Love, Compassion and Sacrifice for me !
I was being drawn by the Holy Spirit years ago. I had accepted Jesus as my Savior but hadn't given Him my heart. So I did give Him my heart and my life on the way to work back in 1994. I am so thankful for the tugging of the Holy Spirit.
