Money Can’t Buy Happiness
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
Years ago, I went to Nicaragua on a mission trip. I had been there several times, but this trip happened to be fun and insightful. My first-born son, Jonathan, and I flew down there.
We met up with our guide and our translator who took us through the wilderness of Nicaragua. For a week, we went from one remote village in the bush of Nicaragua to another. There were no main roads leading to these villages. I preached and shared the Gospel in all of these little villages.
As we were riding through one village, my son Jonathan said, “I am so conflicted. I look at these people, especially these children. They are living in stick houses with dirt floors, yet they are laughing and they're so happy.”
He was right! These people had next to nothing when it came to material possessions and common comforts, yet they were overflowing with joy. When I look at us in our world, we have so much stuff and yet we are miserable. Money doesn't buy peace and happiness. It only buys material things that you think will make you happy. Only the Lord can give you true joy and lasting peace. Only He can provide you with comfort, stability and security.
Live for the Kingdom of God now, and use any wealth that God gives you for His Glory. As children of God, the first thing we should ask God when He blesses us is, “God, what do you want me to do with what you have given me?” God wants you to use whatever resources He blesses you with for His agenda.

May I use my resources God gives to me for His honor and glory,
💯! I was in Nicaragua on mission last summer! Joy-filled people! The Holy Spirit is there!
It is obvious that what our Lord Jesus Christ said some thousand years ago, still stands that "Man's life does not consist of the abundance of things that he possess." Material things are very useful in a physical sense but can by no means give us happiness. Because we were not created for material things but rather we humans were made for God and God alone and He is our satisfaction.
