The Danger Of Being Full Of Yourself
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves. (Philippians 2:3)
As sinful human beings, it is easy for us to be full of ourselves. In fact, I would venture to say that most people at some point or another struggle with a narcissistic attitude where they think they are too good, too busy, or too important to be involved in connecting with people.
When you are full of yourself, this will keep you from being involved in the lives of people. That's what the Scripture says. If you are not involved, it is because you are full of yourself.
You might think, “I don't want to deal with that person because they won’t do anything for me.” Or you might be thinking, “If I help that person, there is a crowd that will see me doing it and will applaud me.” Something is preventing you from truly bearing the burdens of other people like God wants you to do. And the truth of the matter is that it’s simply because we are full of ourselves. Philippians addresses this,
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, (Philippians 2:3).
We have to have the attitude that our brothers and sisters are more important right now than our needs. What they are going through is critical. God has allowed us to be right here, right now, to come alongside them, to be an encouragement, and meet that need in their life. Therefore, it would be in our best interest to put aside our selfish desires and instead step in to help those who need it. After all, Jesus laid down any selfish desire or ambition for our sake. So why don’t we follow His example?

I keep working on being more like Jesus every day. I have lived most of my life as an introvert so I have had to make a lot of effort to reach out to others. I have been put in positions where I need to be reaching out to others. It's a good feeling. Thank You, Jesus
Today's message is very good. Thank you, Obviously, some people do not get it and it is still I, I, I and I.
Lord help me not to be selfish and full of myself so I can be an encouragement to others in their time of needðŸ™
