Claiming The Promises Of God
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6
Remember the promise we discussed yesterday? God said, “He will never leave us and never forsake us.” I get very excited when I read this promise!
I realize that I have done things, said things, and thought things that weren’t very good. If I were God, I would have put me out of my misery and placed me on hold by now. But our God doesn't do that.
He doesn’t give up on anyone. Sometimes, it takes a little bit longer for the light to go on than for others. Regardless, God knows how to speak to you. So never give up on claiming His promises. His Word is powerful.
As a child of God, we need to learn how to sit in God's presence and claim His promises. Every day, we are to open the Word of God, dive in, and ask God to speak to us.
Don't let someone pour water on you spiritually and say the promises you are claiming were only for the children of Israel many years ago. You are His child if you have had an encounter with Christ. Therefore, His words speak to you personally. His promises are for you. And just like He never left the Israelites, He’s never going to leave you either if you are His child.
