Jesus Is the Messiah
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
One of the greatest debates in human history has been whether or not Jesus is the Messiah. The word “Messiah” means “anointed one.” It is the description of the individual who the Jews were expecting to usher in the redemption of the Jewish people. Jesus came as a humble servant leader and teacher. Because the Jews were expecting a powerful military and political ruler to raise up the kingdom of Israel, they wondered if Jesus was the promised Messiah.
Are you wrestling with the same question? You might be saying, “Is Jesus really the Messiah?” If you are wondering about the answer to that question, let me encourage you. There are several reasons why we can be confident that Jesus is the Messiah. The reason that I want you to focus on today is that Jesus fulfilled hundreds of prophecies; these were given hundreds of years before He set foot on the earth!
There were prophecies that said Jesus Christ would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). A prophecy foretold Jesus would be betrayed by 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13). They would pierce Christ’s hands and feet (Psalm 22:16). The Messiah will cry out, “Into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Psalm 31:5). The Messiah’s blood will be spilled for atonement (Leviticus 17:11). Jesus would be resurrected from the dead (Psalm 16:10). The Messiah would conquer death (Isaiah 25:7-8).
Many more examples could be cited. As you read the prophetic statements of the Old Testament, you will conclude that Jesus fulfilled every single one of the prophecies in the New Testament.
Some scholars believe that Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies from the Old Testament! The probability of fulfilling just eight prophecies is estimated at 1 in 10 to the 17th power! If that isn’t mind boggling enough, what would be the probability of fulfilling 300 Old Testament prophecies? If Jesus Christ can do the seemingly impossible, He is indeed the Messiah, the Son of the Living God!
As followers of Christ, we have solid, academic, logical, grounds on our side. Our faith is not in vain. It is deeply rooted in the facts that Jesus proved over and over again; He is the Messiah who came to save us all from eternal separation from God. I hope you will walk confidently in that truth today. You can live with the peace of knowing your faith is rooted in an all-powerful, all-knowing God.

I do believe in Jesus and the love He has for me. Hallelujah!!!
God said it...that settles it!!! I remember reading and believing those scriptures as a baby Christian back in 1988!!!
Thank you God for sending Jesus to teach us your ways, and show us what love really is. Amen!
