Praying Instead of Worrying
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
As I watch our country vibrate with all kinds of decisions that are being made and look at what is happening globally, I am heavy at heart. When I look at this, I find myself questioning, “How much more, God, how much more will you allow us to experience?”
Many of us who are baby boomers have experienced a great flow of prosperity in our country. We have seen things come full circle. There seems to be a season right now of unbelievable disaster. Our culture cries out against God, in every way. In my lifetime, I have seen prayer taken out of schools, and we have disdained any kind of Christian values. We have redefined morality as to what is right and wrong, and what is acceptable.
If you are parents of millennials or Gen-Xers, you battle with the values of your children who have been captivated by this culture. Even though you have raised them in the church, their values are being swayed by what their friends believe rather than what the Word of God says.
You need to claim the Word of God. When you raise up a child according to the Word of God, He will deal with them. The story is not over for your children; there is still hope. That is why you need to be an intercessor for them.
It is in your best interest and in your children’s best interest that you spend more time praying for them than you do worrying about them. Of course, this world is a lot different now than it used to be. And yes, there is plenty to worry about if we succumb to our flesh and the temptations that come with being human. Ultimately, we serve a God who loves us and loves our children even more than we do. He will take care of them. Try to be diligent in praying for our children, rather than wasting time worrying about them and attempting to change things we can’t control.

I presently in a church that keeps reaching out to the public. We have drawn in people of different cultures. Also those who know nothing about God, Jesus or the Bible. Because we teach them about God, Jesus and the Bible, we have some accept Jesus as Savior. I was surprised that some don't even know children's Christmas songs. We love them in
I pray for my son, his wife and my nieces to come to know and love God and to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, Amen
Beautiful scripture and insightful commentary. I'm living through this exact situation right now. God is in control. Thank you so much for your daily devotionals.
Amen.!The greatest gift we can give our children is our faith and to pray over them. I'm reminded not to stay focused on what the Enemy is doing (worry) but to focus on Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. I never want to believe a lie from the devil for my children. We walk by faith and not by sight. So when the enemy whispers ugly lies in our ears, we say...get behind me Satan!! Resist the devil and he will flee. Pray! Pray! Pray ! In 2025....pray, pray and pray some more!!! Thank You, Lord Jesus to God be the glory. Amen. ?
This message definitely speaks to this weary heart of mine. Thank you! My children were raised in church and they are so far away from God it does make me very concerned for their salvation.
nI won’t give in to the devil - I will continue to pray for them.
