A Church On Fire
I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary… Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. – Revelation 2:2-3, 7
The Church of Ephesus that John talks about in the book of Revelation was a church which turned an entire city upside down. Do you know why? Because they were in love with Jesus. When you are in love with Jesus, things change. When you are in love with Christ, it affects your family. It affects the people you work with when you are on fire for Christ. When a church is on fire in a city, it affects the city.
Some of us have never seen that happen. It is an amazing thing to watch when you see a church on fire. Maybe you have never seen that happen. You have never seen a revival where people are getting saved, left, and right. There was a season of time when God's Spirit just seemed to move because God's people were on fire and they were in love with Jesus. It wasn't about the church. It wasn't about the denomination. It wasn't about a building program. It was all about Jesus!
That's what we need in this land. That's what we need in our churches. That's the kind of church we need in our cities. I want us to be that kind of church. I want us to be those kinds of people. Let us be on fire for Jesus so that we can point others to Him and make an impact wherever we are.

The only time I saw anything close to that was when an evangelist came to my home town church. We were to invite friends to come and a lot of people from the town came
