A Gracious Gift
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
Today’s verse is such a great reminder of the truth that our salvation isn't earned by what we do. It's a gift from God, given because of His love for us. Sometimes, we might think we need to do certain things or follow certain rules to be good enough for God. But that's not true.
God's love for us is so big that He sent Jesus to save us. Jesus lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again. Because of what Jesus did, we can be forgiven and have a relationship with God.
Our good deeds or religious traditions can't save us. No matter how hard we try or how many good things we do, it's not enough to earn salvation. It's like trying to fill a bucket with a hole in it. No matter how much water you pour in, it keeps leaking out.
But the good news is that we don't have to earn our salvation. It's already been done for us by Jesus. All we have to do is believe in Him and accept His gift of grace. When we do that, we become part of God's family forever.
So let's remember that our salvation is a gift from God, given freely because of His love. Let's trust in Jesus alone for our salvation and thank God for His amazing grace!
