Abiding and Resting
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
If you are going through difficult times in your life right now, you need to learn the spiritual practice of abiding. But what does it mean to abide? Let me give you an example.
I love the couches that we have in our church foyer. I often sit in them before I come into the auditorium. I have had the thought that we could move the cameras so I could preach sitting on a couch. It is so restful and peaceful. That’s what it means to abide in Christ. To be resting and at peace with Him at all times.
Now keep in mind that this doesn't necessarily mean everything is okay and life is perfect. Recently, I was sitting on the couch and talking with one of our members. He is struggling with some physical issues. When you are abiding, everything might not be great. But sometimes, when times are tough, you need to learn the spiritual discipline of abiding, resting, and leaning back on Jesus.
Is there something you’ve been struggling with recently? Have you found yourself feeling anxious, worried, overwhelmed, and fearful of what’s to come? If so, my prayer is that you will intentionally take some time today to abide and rest in your Heavenly Father. He wants to support you. He wants to help you. And He wants to give you peace that surpasses all understanding. So choose to abide in Him today, and see how He works in your heart when you rest in Him.

I have a situation that is very hard to live in. Many people suffer because of it. No one wants to do anything about it so I pray that God will work in the situation. I have learned to rest in His arms
Amen, and amen.
nTrust in the lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
nIn all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.
Alot of times, I pray for guidance and know , that I should wait on the Lord so he can guide me but a lot of times I jump the gun and do it my way not giving him a chance to get in and bless me. So I sometimes block the blessing. I don't.
n Wait and abide and rest in him like I should. I get nervous, anxious and think the prayer should have been answered yesterday. I'm going to work on a biding and resting in Jesus. Thank You for the Word today .
Faith is trusting what you cannot see and what you do not know. you have to trust in God. Make your faith strong by getting to know Jesus and trusting him even though you cannot see him, believe that He is there for you because He always IS there for you. The only way to accomplish all this is to read the Bible, pray and meditate with Jesus. Jesus is real he's not just a figment of your imagination. He will speak to you through prayer, in your meditation and through the holy Spirit. When you get nervous and anxious and try to do it on your own that's a direct result of the devil's influence to convince you that God is not real, that Jesus does not exist. This is a time of your greatest weakness and that's when you need to pray to Jesus for his help. You cannot do it on your own no matter how hard you try or what work you do, you cannot do it without prayer and Jesus. Ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will open. All these things I say to you are directly from God's word. If you don't hear what I'm saying you're sinning is winning and will keep you from getting to know God. You cannot live in sin and claim Jesus as your Savior. You have to make a choice to walk with Christ or face the consequences of being against Him. In the long run it is you only that pays the price, no one else. The wage of sin is death (separation from God). Rome wasn't built in a day it, all takes time and effort.
