A Call to Prayer
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14
I like what Andrew Murray, a great prayer warrior of yesteryear, said: “Prayer is not so much getting from God. Rather, it is getting into the flow of where God is going.” We need to realize that prayer is not about going through the checkout line in heaven and saying, “God, I need this, I need that.” He already knows what we need. Instead, we need to spend enough time with Him so that we begin to hear what He wants us to pray.
Many of us struggle to know what to pray because we have not had a fresh encounter with Christ. Without that, our prayers can become routine rather than Spirit-led. When we truly seek God, our prayers align with His will, and we begin to see Him move in powerful ways.
Our world is broken and in need of healing. There is so much division, hurt, and confusion. But true restoration begins when God’s people humble themselves, seek His face, and turn from anything that pulls them away from Him. When we prioritize prayer, God hears, forgives, and restores.
We need to trust that God is the one who brings transformation. He is not confined to human systems or ideas—He is sovereign over all. Revival and healing happen when His people commit to prayer and seek Him with their whole hearts. But all of this change starts with a fresh encounter with Christ. When we experience Him in a new way, we will pray with passion, purpose, and faith, knowing that our hope is in Him alone.
