Giving God’s Way
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)
Our giving to God should be described in several different phrases: From your heart, of your resources, through the church, to the Lord. There are many Scripture verses to support those phrases of direction. However, I do not believe our problem with giving is about information. We know God expects us to give, but often we struggle, and we grip our resources too tightly.
In Luke 6:38, Jesus is encouraging us to enter a giving contest with God. He is clearly saying, “God will out-give you.” You don’t have a big enough dump truck to outdo Him! I really don’t believe He is using this to motivate our giving by touching on our fleshly investment strategy. Think about that for a moment. If God will out-give you, why not get more back? We struggle too much in our flesh for the Lord to give up on us and use it as a fulcrum.
Instead, I am confident that Jesus shares this verse because it Is a fact. You simply can’t out-give God! When you decide to be a giver, both of your heart and your finances, your tent will be enlarged to have even more to give. This is a spiritual fact and one I wholeheartedly embrace; it definitely has been true for me! How is it going for you? I am encouraging you right now to be a giver. Because I believe you already are a giver, I urge you to use a bigger shovel! Start today and just watch what God will do!

May I give freely
God owns everything. May I be a good steward of all that He has given me. Help me, Lord to surrender all to you. Thank You, Jesus. Amen. ?
