Come and See
“Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. – John 1:46
When Jesus called Philip, he followed—and then immediately went to his friend Nathanael. He said, “We have found the one Moses wrote about… Jesus of Nazareth.” Nathanael responded skeptically, “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” But Philip didn’t argue. He simply said, “Come and see.”
This is a powerful reminder: you don’t need to have all the answers to talk to your friends about Jesus. Many people hesitate to share their faith because they fear saying the wrong thing or not knowing enough. But salvation comes by the power of the Holy Spirit, not through perfect arguments.
When Jesus saw Nathanael, He said, “Here truly is an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” Nathanael asked, “How do you know me?” Jesus replied, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree.” That moment convinced Nathanael: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God.”
We don't change hearts—Jesus does. Our role is to help people take one more step in their journey toward Him. Maybe that means inviting someone to church, asking how you can pray for them, or simply sharing what Jesus has done in your life.
There are people in your life who need a spiritual friend connection. Will you be that friend who says, “Come and see”?
