No Sin Is Too Big
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Have you ever committed a sin which caused you to be overwhelmed with guilt and shame? Have you carried the burden of your mistakes by yourself for quite a while? Have you ever said, “There is no way God could ever look past this sin? It’s just too big.”
If any of those statements are true for you, let me encourage you. God is much bigger and greater than all of your sins and mistakes. There is nothing you could ever say or do that would put you out of reach of His forgiveness.
Think about some of the most well-known biblical figures. Moses murdered an Egyptian. David slept with another man’s wife, and then had that man killed. Paul (formerly known as Saul) persecuted and killed countless Christians before he was converted. These men carried out some of the most heinous crimes known to man, and yet God still forgave them.
Not only did God forgive them, but He used them to accomplish incredible work for His Glory and His Kingdom. He can do the same in your life, as well. No sin is too big for God to forgive; and no sin is too big to disqualify you from being used by God. The Lord wants to forgive you. He wants to use you. He wants to redeem your life so that you can be a shining example of how God can take something terrible and turn it into something remarkable.
Don’t live another day overwhelmed by the guilt and shame of your sin. Instead, ask the Lord to forgive you for what you have done. Repent and turn away from your wrongdoing and begin to follow the Lord’s leading in your life. When you do, you will be amazed at the redemptive work God will accomplish in you.
