Healing in His Time
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
Not all things are good, but even with the bad, God has a plan. God has a plan for your life, regardless of what you are going through. We need to understand that there will be times when your body will fail you. No one gets out of this life alive, even though we want to be here as long as possible. So with this in mind, it is important that we have a good theology around this subject of healing.
God still heals. He may choose to do it through medicine. He may choose to do it miraculously. Our God still heals—but not all the time, and not always in the ways we expect. The Bible teaches that in Isaiah 53:5, “by His wounds we are healed.” But the context is spiritual healing, not physical healing.
You can claim all the healing you want, but things must line up perfectly for God’s will in your life. One day at the Rapture, He will redeem this old body, change us, and give us a brand-new body. If you know Christ, whether you are in a grave, in a jar, or scattered, God will change you in the twinkling of an eye.
God heals who He wants to heal, for His glory, at His right time. What’s important is that you rely on God regardless of what state your body is in. Sometimes, He miraculously heals. Sometimes, He doesn't. But always, He is working for your good.
