Why Don’t We Worship?
“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” – Psalm 22:3 (KJV)
Worship is very, very important! Everyone knows something about worship. But in reality, many people do not know much. However, we do know if we have been in the presence of God because we have felt it and sensed His presence. It has nothing to do with volume or performance. It depends on whether Jesus is honored and glorified.
So why don’t people engage in worship?
Some people are uninformed. They have never been taught about worship. It was just assumed that everyone knew what worshiping was.
Some are inexperienced. They’ve been in worship gatherings but never experienced real worship. They mistake robes, crucifixes, communion, and rituals for worship.
Many of us are self-absorbed. We show up to be seen or avoid judgment. We are oblivious and think worship is about us.
Others are hardened. Sin has hardened their hearts. A person can be among others worshiping and watching God move, and yet feel nothing. Because of the hardness in their heart, they do not repent.
Some are shamed or guilted. Maybe someone has made a joke about your singing. One man said, “When I was a kid, my mother said, ‘Minor, you can’t sing, so why don’t you stop singing?’ Ever since that time, I have never tried to sing a note.”
But we were made for intimacy with God. We are to be people of worship. He wants to meet with us. He inhabits our praise. Don’t let misunderstanding, shame, or pride hold you back. Enter into His presence with honesty, humility, and your whole heart.

When I was a child you were shamed for not going to church. Now that I am grown up,I go to church to worship God and to fellowship with other believers. We encourage and build up one another in Christ
