Big Responsibilities
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Regardless of where you are in life right now, odds are you have a large responsibility. If you are a student, you have a responsibility to continue your education in the midst of this chaotic time, and also to live a life that honors God. You want to make an impact in your school, your neighborhood, and your family.
If you are a parent, you have a responsibility that is very large for your families. There has never been a more important time for parents to step up than now. We need to live like God wants us to live and model for our kids what it looks like to honor the Lord and live in obedience to Him.
If you are working, you have a huge responsibility to your employer, as well as the responsibility of providing for yourself and possibly others. Therefore, you must continue to work hard, as if you are working for the Lord and not for men.
We all have big responsibilities. And sometimes these responsibilities can feel overwhelming. But the Lord wants to help us carry of all our responsibilities so that we don’t crumble under the weight of their burden. He is a loving Father who wants to walk with you, help you, encourage you, and support you with whatever you’re carrying right now. So don’t feel the pressure to keep doing things all on your own. Rely on the Lord to help you. Surrender it all to Him and watch how much lighter you feel as you do.
