Busyness and Intimacy
I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. (Revelation 2:19)
Do you find yourself serving God more than you spend time with Him? Do you often get so busy doing things for the Kingdom that you fail to make time to sit with the King?
It is possible for a church or a believer to be so full of activity and service that there is a fatal flaw within. This happens when “busy-ness” is substituted for intimacy. In fact, that's exactly what you see in the church at Thyatira that’s described in today’s key passage. Sometimes, “busy-ness” service is a smokescreen and a refusal to be still and know that He is God.
For many Christians, this is not their problem; they are not busy at all. They are not even trying to work for the Lord. They are not serving the Lord. They are just going by their feelings if they don't feel like serving.
Many of us would rather be active for Christ than be intimate with Christ. Many of us would rather serve than be submitted to Him. Many of us would rather make dust waiting tables instead of sitting at the table with the Lord. There is a balance to be maintained as believers. Although service for the believer is critically important, it is not a substitute for intimacy.

I thought service was submitting to Him, this opened my eyes. I'm learning, Thank You for today's Devototion. I want to submit to HIM TOTALLY.
I serve because of my intimate relationship with my Heavenly Father. I need Him and His direction to know how I can serve Him.
AMEN, AMEN AND AMEN!!!
