Demolishing Strongholds
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
A few years ago, I was talking with a church member who was struggling with an addiction. He said something that broke my heart: "Pastor, I feel like I've given Satan the keys to this area of my life, and I don't know how to get them back." As we talked, I could see the shame and hopelessness in his eyes. He felt trapped, like he was destined to live in bondage forever.
That's exactly what a stronghold is – it's when we've handed over the keys to some area of our life to the enemy. Maybe it's sexual sin, addiction, unforgiveness, anxiety, pride, or even bitterness toward someone who hurt you. We justify it, excuse it, or simply feel powerless against it. The enemy whispers lies like "you'll never change" or "this is just who you are." But here's the good news: God has given us divine weapons to demolish these strongholds!
The battle begins in our minds. Scripture says we're to "take captive every thought" and make it obedient to Christ. What are you thinking about most of the time? What thoughts are you allowing to run wild in your mind? Remember, "as a man thinks within himself, so he becomes."
If you've given Satan any ground in your life – any area where you keep saying "yes" to sin – it's time to take back those keys. You don't have to live in bondage anymore. Through Christ, you have the power to demolish every stronghold the enemy has built in your life.
Today, ask God to show you any area where you've given the enemy a foothold. Then use His divine weapons – prayer, His Word, and the power of His Spirit – to tear down those strongholds once and for all. Freedom is available, but you have to fight for it.

Praise God! The battle belongs to the Lord. Praying for this young man that the Lord will set him free from his bondage ..whom the Lord sets free, he shall be free indeed. Help us all, Lord to align our thoughts and our flesh to agree with Your Spirit within us and in Christ Jesus we can do all things to God be the glory . Amen?
