Did God Really Say That?
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)
In Genesis Chapter 3, he questions your knowledge about what God actually said. Remember what he said to Eve, “Did God really say…?” You need to realize that although He was addressing Eve, Adam was very close; he was hearing this. We are living in a world today where preachers and teachers are making up what God has not said or reinterpreting what God has said. This is why you need to be a student of the Word of God.
When our students go off to college, they will meet professors who operate with this principle; and the students will be attacked for what they believe. They will be asked questions, “Do you really believe that? Did God really say that?” We hear that all of the time. Many people have studied the book of, “I say yah,” from the mouths of other people. They have no idea what the Word of God actually says. That's why you need to be a student of the Word of God.
That's why you need to learn what the Word of God says. That's why you should be in a small group. Your focus in being in a small group is more than having a community connection; it is to learn what the Bible actually says. There are thousands of people who are spiritually ignorant and they don't really know what the Word of God says.
That is how Satan takes a step to destroy you and your family; he literally questions your knowledge of what God actually says. Therefore we must be prepared with the knowledge of God’s Word so we know what God actually says and can’t be easily persuaded of the lies the enemy tries to feed us.

That is why I love to read God's Word. I am around people that easily lead others away since a lot of people don't know what the Bible says. I learn more every time I read it.
