Ready for Their Questions
"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15)
Have you noticed that people ask the deepest questions during their most difficult seasons? When the unexpected happens - job loss, illness, relationship breakdown, natural disasters - suddenly everyone becomes a theologian wanting to know, "Where is God in all this?"
That's exactly what happened at Pentecost. When the sound of rushing wind filled the house and confused the crowd, people started asking, "What does this mean?" Simon Peter was ready. He didn't miss the opportunity. He answered their question by pointing them straight to Jesus.
God has a way of using uncertainty in our lives and in the lives of others to create openness to the Gospel. I've seen it happen over and over again. The person who never wanted to talk about spiritual things suddenly finds themselves asking big questions when life gets shaky.
Here's what I want you to understand: God is going to put you alongside people during their unstable moments. The family member facing financial ruin. The friend grieving an unexpected loss. The parent whose teenager has walked away from everything they taught them. In these moments, people become much more open to hearing about Jesus than they ever were before.
The question is: Will you be ready? When they ask, "How do you have such peace?" or "Where do you find hope when everything falls apart?" - what will your answer be?
You don't need a seminary degree. You just need to know Jesus and be ready to share Him. Because when people's worlds are shaking, that's exactly when they need to hear about the Rock that never moves.
Be ready for their questions. Your friends are counting on it.

I pray that I will be ready to tell others about Jesus and the plan for salvation.
