Eternal Security
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:13)
Eternal security is very, very important. You need to know that you know that you know Christ. You need to have confidence that, “There is nothing that you could ever do to earn salvation.”
Likewise, “There is nothing you could ever do that would ever take away your salvation.” I believe that the Bible teaches with great clarity, once you become a child of God, you will always be a child of God. Period! You didn't do something to earn salvation; and you can't do anything that would be so despicable that God would say, “You are not worthy enough. I'm going to take away that salvation.”
Years ago, a man came to me in my first pastorate. He was concerned about his salvation. He said, “You know, they put my name on the roll of the church when I made a decision, and I've never seen it written down there. Could you open up the Church Membership Book and allow me to see my name on the roll?” I said, “Sure.” I opened the book and showed him his name. Interestingly, he never showed up at church again!
What I fear this man may not have understood is that eternal security is not granted because your name is on some church roll. Eternal security is based upon whether your name is written in the “Lamb's Book of Life.” You need to have the confidence that your name is written in that book; it is recorded in heaven while you are still on earth when you place your faith in Christ and surrender your life to Him.
Are you confident that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Have you accepted the Lord’s free gift of salvation and given your life to Him? If not, I pray that today would be the day you make that decision so you can be confident in your eternal security.

I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 11 years old. After that I lived my life the way I wanted to. Then when I was asked if I knew I would go to heaven if I died,I would say "I hope so ".Through a fellow believer,I learned what I needed to do to be sure. I then gave my life to Jesus at the age of 43. I have been on a whirlwind ride ever since. I now know my name is in the book of life.
I'm so grateful for the Lord's mercy through His shed blood that I can rest in Him and His righteousness and not mine. No more than my own parents can deny me as their child because of my sin, than Christ can deny me when I have trusted in His shed blood that made me His child in faith and believing. The Lord was gracious to remind me when I have failed Him, that just like can disappoin my earthy parents as a rebellious child, I can disappoint my LORD when I sin against Him, but it doesn't keep me from being His child nor my parents earthly child when I sin agains them. I still want to please and honor Jesus as LORD, but I know sometimes I will fail, in my life and I do fail in this flesh of mine that wars against His Spirit. But, God's Word says He is faithful and just to forgive me when I confess my sin so that I can keep my fellowship with Him and have peace. When I leave this earth and see the LORD, He will see His righteousness in me through faith in believing in Christ Jesus , death, burial and resurrection and not my own, which would be futile without Hjm. Praising God for Jesus Christ and His shed blood and mercy and grace to keep me. Hallelujah!!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Charlie Kirk's witness of salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ and His shed blood for the forgiveness of our sin. May Charlie's death prove to be for good in bringing forth a harvest of souls to glory and not for the evil it was intended. Help us all to be a light as Charlie was for our next generation and to all. In Jesus name and for His name sake; to God be the glory. Amen. ?
