Experiencing Christ’s Fullness
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
As Christians, we all want to experience Christ’s fullness in its totality. In other words, we want to experience all that a relationship with the Lord has to offer. But how do we do that? How do we receive the fullness of Christ?
Well, the law would stress that performance is key in earning any favor, love, or fulfillment. So often we believe if we follow all of the rules, do the right thing, be kind to others, and do our best not to sin, God will love us more and we’ll earn more of His favor. But God knew that we would never measure up the standard He expected for someone who was to have a relationship with Him. That’s why He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the ultimate price on our behalf.
The grace that comes as a result of the cross is a free gift we can accept from the Lord. There’s nothing we can do to make ourselves worthy on our own. And taking it one step further, there’s nothing we can do to disqualify ourselves from being able to accept God’s free gift of salvation.
Jesus paid the price, so we didn’t have to, and He did so because He loves us. That love is where His fullness comes from, and if we’re going to experience that fullness the way we desire, we must make the choice to follow Him and surrender our lives to Him. Knowing about Jesus is not enough. We have to get to the point where we are dedicated to living our lives according to His will so that we point others to Him and give them the chance to experience fullness in Christ as well.

I have experienced being touched by the love of God. I felt a oneness in His love. I am His servant. There are many people that need to know that love as well.
