Experiencing God’s Presence With Other Believers
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:24-25
On February 3, 1970, a revival broke out at Asbury University in Kentucky. It created a movement of God, and students stayed in the chapel for an extended period of time. In the late seventies, the Jesus movement began to spread.
Now, 53 years later, in the same month of February, a revival broke out again at Asbury University once again. Many people traveled there, and the revival spread like wildfire. Other universities experienced this movement of God. It was exciting and thrilling to watch because Jesus Christ was being craved. If you listen to some of the testimonies of the students at Asbury, they just want more of the Lord.
Sometimes, revival hits an area and it's only located in a certain geographical area. Often when God begins to move, that appetite and longing for the presence of God begins to spread to different places. An awakening can happen and reach farther than you could ever imagine. But it all starts with having a desire to know Christ and longing for Him.
God wants us to come into His presence and He wants us to desire to experience His presence alongside other believers. There is a particular verse in Hebrews 10. It is the only verse in the Bible where it says, “Get thou to church.” Here is what it says,
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another -- and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
You have to ask the question, “Why is there only one verse in the New Testament that says, “Go to church, don't stop meeting together?” Here is the reason. Because believers who are following Jesus want to be with other believers. They have a desire; they have an appetite; they have a longing to be there because they think God will show up in an unbelievable way. They will sense His presence and God will speak to them. May we all maintain that desire as we continue to follow Christ and meet together with our spiritual brothers and sisters.

I love to gather with other believers. We uplift each other, encourage one another and we have good times together. We are there for each other. And when 2 or more believers are together, there is God.
As we get closer to Christs return we will need each other to pray, lift up and encourage. The times are going to get rougher. But God will be with us. Do not fear.
