Faith and Understanding
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - Isaiah 55:8-9
We live in a culture where knowledge and intelligence are highly valued and sought after. Just like the old saying goes, “Knowledge is power.” We believe the more we know, the better off we’ll be. But knowledge isn’t the only thing we should be pursuing when it comes to our relationship with Jesus.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s a wonderful thing to want to gain knowledge and understanding in regards to Scripture, the life of Jesus, and the character of God. In fact, you should want to know as much as you can about all of those aspects of your Christian walk. But it’s also important to remember that you’re not always going to understand everything. You might not always be able to articulate why bad things happen to good people. You might not be able to figure out why God is doing certain things that don’t necessarily make sense. This is where faith comes in.
Hebrews 11:6 says this, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Faith is a non-negotiable when it comes to your relationship with Christ. Faith is the only way you’re going to be able to walk through life, because faith is what you will lean into when your knowledge and understanding runs out.
There are always going to be things that God says or does that don’t make sense from our perspective. That’s why He is God and we are not. His ways and His thoughts will always be higher than ours. But we can be confident that He knows what’s best and that our trust and faith in Him is never in vain. With that in mind, I would encourage you to take some time today and ask God to renew your faith, especially when you lack understanding. He will honor your request, and He will restore your trust in Him.

I never understand why people who write of God use lower case letters..Yes correct English states that, but when I see God referenced I feel His title in sentences should always be capiltized . ( he - He )
AMEN TO THAT DEE!!! AND LORD RENEW MY FAITH TODAY. LORD JESUS THANK YOU FOR YOUR GRACE AND MERCY EACH AND EVERY DAY
Thank You,Jesus for being faithful at all times.
