When the World Feels Out of Control
"'For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep.'" (Ezekiel 34:11-12)
Have you ever felt like the world is spinning out of control? I'll be honest with you - when I watch the news these days, it can feel overwhelming. Wars, threats, political chaos. Sometimes I catch myself wondering, "God, are You really in charge here?"
Let me tell you about a conversation I had with my grandson last week. He came to me worried about some news he'd heard at school. His young mind was trying to process why bad things happen in the world. As we sat together, I reminded him of something profound: God is not wringing His hands in heaven, wondering what to do next.
You see, what we're witnessing today - whether it's conflicts in the Middle East, political tensions, or personal struggles in our own lives - none of it catches God off guard. He has a plan, and it's been in motion since before the foundation of the world.
In Ezekiel 34, God speaks as a shepherd who personally tends His flock. Notice He doesn't say, "I'll send someone to look after you." He says, "I myself will search for my sheep." That's personal involvement from the Creator of the universe.
When Israel was scattered among the nations for centuries, it looked hopeless. But in 1948, against all odds, they returned to their homeland - just as God promised through Ezekiel thousands of years earlier. God's plan was in motion, even when it looked impossible.
Friend, whatever you're facing today - whether it's uncertainty about the future, struggles in your family, or fears about what's happening in our world - remember this truth: God Himself is looking after His sheep. You're not forgotten. You're not overlooked.
The same God who brought Israel back to their land is the same God who knows exactly where you are right now. He's not distant or disconnected. He's personally involved in your life, working all things together for His good purposes.
So instead of letting the news cycle drive you to anxiety, let it drive you to your knees. Pray for our leaders, pray for peace, but most importantly, rest in the truth that the Sovereign Lord is in complete control.
Trust His plan. It's still in motion, and it includes you.

What I like Lord is that You know what's going on. You know, and you have known from the beginning. We have got to trust. AND Continue to trust because the world is a mess. But you are in our lives to bless us and get us through this mess. Things are going to work out in your favor and I like knowing that I'm under your wing and still have your angels all around. We are part of the Triple A CLUB ANGELS ALL AROUND. BE BLESSED !!
Thank you, Dr. Dodd for this encouraging devotional, I watch your program on TV on Sundays and I am always blessed by your message. May God continue to bless you as you preach His Word in truth.
The world can be a scary place. Especially for those who have financial investments that could be wiped away in a flash. I have put my investment in the Lord. I know God is in control and that He is taking care of me.
Amen? Jesus Is LORD over all! I place my trust in Him and not in man!! Guide us and keep us, LORD Jesus in these days! Amen. ?
