The Reason You’re Here

"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." — 1 Corinthians 11:1
 
Have you ever thought about why you're sitting where you're sitting?
 
You're here today as a follower of Jesus because someone invested in your life. Maybe it was a Bible study teacher who took extra time with you. Maybe it was a vacation Bible school leader who made the gospel real when you were seven years old. Maybe it was a neighbor who invited you to church when you were going through a hard time. Maybe it was a parent who prayed for you every single day.
 
Somewhere along the way, someone decided you were worth their time, their energy, and their attention. They didn't just hand you information. They gave you their life.
 
That's how the gospel has always moved forward. Not through programs or institutions alone, but through people investing in people. Paul invested in Timothy. Timothy invested in faithful men. Those men invested in others. And the chain has continued for two thousand years, all the way down to you.
 
"And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others" (2 Timothy 2:2).
 
Now it's your turn.
 
Someone brought you along. Someone believed in you before you believed in yourself. Someone carried a Band-Aid when you had poison ivy. The question isn't whether you've received that kind of investment. The question is whether you're passing it on.
 
Who are you investing in? Who will be here twenty years from now because you took the time?
 
You're here for a reason. Now be that reason for someone else.
