Feel Him or Not
"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." — Hebrews 11:1
Do you need to feel God to believe He's there?
A lot of Christians live like they do. If worship gives them an emotional charge, they felt God's presence. If the sermon moved them to tears, God spoke. If they leave church on a high, it was a good Sunday.
But what about the days when you feel nothing?
Here's the truth: you don't have to feel Him for Him to be there.
The two disciples on the road to Emmaus walked and talked with Jesus for hours. They felt confused, downcast, disappointed. They didn't feel His presence at all. And yet He was right beside them the entire time.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).
Spiritual maturity means learning to trust God's presence whether you feel it or not. Some days you wake up and say, "Good morning, Lord." Other days it's more like, "Good Lord, morning." Your emotions ebb and flow. Your biological clock affects your mood. But none of that changes the fact that He lives within you and walks with you.
Feelings are real, but they're not reliable indicators of God's presence. His promise is. And He promised never to leave you or forsake you.
Feel Him or not, He's there.

I don't feel Him with me most of the time. A song usually comes to mind to let me know He is with me. I communicate with Him when I don't feel that He is with me when I need Him to be with me which is always.
