A Hand Of Blessing
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (Revelation 1:17-18)
For many of us, when we were growing up; we longed for the hand of blessing from our father. We wanted him to say to us, “Good job, I am proud of you. God bless you, my son, God bless you, my daughter, I am so proud of you.” Maybe you didn't have that. Maybe your father felt that way but never spoke it. Or maybe he never felt that way at all.
But let me remind you that you are not to look for that kind of affirmation because there is One greater in your life, who has already placed His hand on you to bless you. Just like He did for John as we read today’s key passage, He wants you to have that kind of image. He wants you to have that kind of sense in your heart and your life.
Where do we get comfort? From what He says, “Do not be afraid.” I don't know what the future holds for us. John didn't know what the future held for him, but Jesus' words were, “Do not be afraid.”
God wants you to live a full life now. For whatever time He gives you, He places His hand of blessing and comfort upon you. Remember, blessing comes from whose hand is on you. May we never forget that truth.

Thank You, Heavenly Father for putting Your hand of blessing upon me. Thank You for loving me.
Thank You Father for loving me so much that you sent your Son Jesus Christ to shed his blood for me that I may know how much You love me. Your mercies are new for me every morning. Thank You, Jesus. Amen. ?
